چکیده

COMPTEL, aboard the Compton Gamma-Ray Observatory , has detected at MeV energies PSR B1951+32 and found indications for a signal from PSR B0656+14. In the combined COMPTEL { EGRET spectra it is apparent that the maximum luminosities of these objects are reached in the COMPTEL energy range, or at least spectral features/bumps are apparent. These spectra can be compared with those of four other pulsars for which the COMPTEL data provided evidence or indications of activity at MeV energies. Besides of the Crab pulsar, which follows approximately a power-law ux relation from keV to GeV energies, the spectral properties of the other ve pulsars { Vela, Geminga, PSR B1509-58 and the above mentioned new detections { require breaks/bends at MeV energies. This behaviour at MeV energies may play a decisive role in discriminating between current gamma-ray emission models.

Detection of pulsed MeV emission from PSR B1951+32 by COMPTEL

We report on the detection at MeV energies of the radio pulsar PSR B1951+32 by the Compton telescope COMPTEL aboard the COMPTON Gamma Ray Observatory (CGRO). Folding the event arrival times with the radio ephemerides, gives for the data collected during CGRO-mission Cycles I+II a pulsar-phase distribution with two peaks, consistent in phase with the pulses measured by EGRET for energies above 1...

The Crab pulsar in the 0 . 75 - 30 MeV range as seen by CGRO COMPTEL A coherent high - energy picture from soft X - rays up to high - energy γ - rays

We present the time-averaged characteristics of the Crab pulsar in the 0.75-30 MeV energy window using data from the imaging Compton Telescope COMPTEL aboard the Compton Gamma-Ray Observatory (CGRO) collected over its 9 year mission. Exploiting the exceptionally long COMPTEL exposure on the Crab allowed us to derive significantly improved COMPTEL spectra for the Crab nebula and pulsar emissions...

COMPTEL observations of the γ-ray blazars 3C 454.3 and CTA 102 during the CGRO mission

We have investigated the MeV behaviour of the γ-ray blazars 3C 454.3 and CTA 102 by analyzing all COMPTEL observations of this sky region during the complete CGRO mission. Both sources are detected by COMPTEL at the upper COMPTEL energies, although their flux estimates may be uncertain by possible minor contributions of nearby unidentified EGRET γ-ray sources. While CTA 102 was only detected at...

Comptel Detection of Pulsed Emission from Psr B1509-58 up to at Least 10 Mev

We report the COMPTEL detection of pulsed γ-emission from PSR B1509-58 up to at least 10 MeV using data collected over more than 6 years. The 0.75-10 MeV lightcurve is broad and reaches its maximum near radio-phase 0.38, slightly beyond the maximum found at hard X-rays/ soft γ-rays. In the 10-30 MeV energy range a strong source is present in the skymap positionally consistent with the pulsar, b...

COMPTEL observation of the flaring quasar PKS0528+134

With a direct demodulation method, we have reanalyzed the data from the COMPTEL observation of PKS0528+134 during the 1993 March flare in γ-rays. Our results show that during the flare γ-rays were detected at a level approximately 2.4-3.8 times higher than the observed intensity in two earlier COMPTEL observations VP 0 and VP 1 in the energy range 3 MeV to 30 MeV. The 3-30 MeV time variability ...
